ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore the association between light intensity physical activity (LPA) and sedentary behavior (SB) with body composition, so as to provide data references for improving adolescent physical health.@*Methods@#From August 2020 to January 2021, general information of 694 students in grade one of a high school in Foshan City was collected, and the 24 hour activity behavior and body composition of the students were measured objectively by triaxial accelerometer and bioelectrical impedance tester. Dual component multivariate regression and dual compositional isotemporal substitution model were used to explore the relationship between LPA and SB and body composition.@*Results@#LPA was associated with lower fat relative dominance (FRD) (male weekends FRD=-21.44%, female weekly FRD=-17.83%, weekdays FRD=-18.27%, P <0.05), and LPA was also associated with higher muscle relative dominance (MRD) and bone relative dominance (BRD) (male weekends MRD=12.78%, BRD= 12.87 %; female weekly MRD=11.64%, BRD=9.01%; female weekdays MRD=12.02%, BRD=9.23%, P <0.05). Replacing sedentary behavior (SB) with 10 minutes of LPA could reduce fat proportion [male:weekly -0.15(-0.26--0.04), weekdays -0.12 (-0.22--0.02); female:weekly -0.18(-0.27--0.08), weekdays -0.16(-0.25--0.07)) and increase muscle proportion (male:weekly 0.14(0.03-0.24), weekdays 0.11(0.02-0.21); female:weekly 0.17(0.07-0.26), weekdays 0.15(0.07-0.24)].@*Conclusion@#Interrupting continuous SB with LPA can serve as an intervention measure to promote physical health and fitness in adolescents. School should encourage students to engage in frequent LPA during breaks and after school activities, while avoiding prolonged SB.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the effect of orexin A on morphine-induced gastrointestinal dysfunction in mice. Methods:Forty SPF C57B/6 mice, aged 6-8 weeks, half male and half female, weighing 18-22 g, were divided into 5 groups ( n=8 each) using a random number table method: control group (group C), morphine group (group M) and morphine + different doses of orexin A groups (MOH, MOM and MOL groups). Normal saline 8 ml/kg was subcutaneously injected daily in group C, morphine 6 mg/kg was subcutaneously injected daily in the other four groups, and orexin A 75, 50 and 25 μg/kg were subcutaneously injected daily for 10 days at the same time in MOH, MOM and MOL groups. The fetal water content was calculated and averaged daily. After the last administration, the mice were gavaged with black nutrient paste, and the gastric emptying rate and small intestinal propulsion rate were detected 30 min later.Blood samples were collected from the orbit, and the concentration of serum gastrin (GAS) was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The mice were then sacrificed, and colon tissues were removed for determination of c-kit positive cell area (by immunohistochemistry) and expression of c-kit, substance P (SP) and neural nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) in colon tissues (by Western blot). Results:Compared with group C, the rate of fecal water content, gastric emptying rate, small intestinal propulsion rate and serum GAS concentration were significantly decreased, the area of c-kit positive cells was decreased, and the expression of c-kit and SP was down-regulated, and the expression of nNOS was up-regulated in group M ( P<0.05). Compared with group M, the small intestinal propulsive rate and serum GAS concentration were significantly increased, and the area of c-kit positive cells was increased, and the expression of c-kit was up-regulated in group MOH, the rate of fecal water content, gastric emptying rate, small intestinal propulsion rate and serum GAS concentration were significantly increased, the area of c-kit positive cells was increased, and the expression of c-kit and SP was up-regulated, and the expression of nNOS was down-regulated in group MOM, and the serum GAS concentration and c-kit positive cell area were significantly increased in group MOL ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Orexin A 50 μg/kg can effectively alleviate the gastrointestinal dysfunction induced by morphine in mice, and the mechanism may be related to promotion of GAS secretion, interstitial cells of Cajal growth and SP release and inhibition of NO release.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effect of mild cognitive impairment on the subjective well-being of the elderly and the mediating role of self-efficacy in it. To provide an effective basis for health management and clinical intervention in the elderly with mild cognitive impairment. Methods:A total of 164 patients with mild cognitive impairment from December 2018 to June 2019 were surveyed by the General Self-efficacy Scale, the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale, and the Memorial University of Newfoundland Scale of Happiness Scale. Results:The overall score of self-efficacy was 21.41±3.98, and subjective well-being was 26.44±7.35. There was a positive correlation among cognitive function, self-efficacy and subjective well-being, except that there was no significant correlation between self-efficacy and cognitive function( r values were 0.263-0.687, P<0.01). Self-efficacy played a part in mediating between cognitive function and subjective well-being in patients with mild cognitive impairment, accounting for 37.8% of the total effect. Conclusions:Mild cognitive impairment can also have a negative impact on the subjective well-being of the elderly. Among them, self-efficacy plays a particularly important role in mediating. Interventions about self-efficacy on the elderly with mild cognitive impairment may have more significant effects.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the value of preoperative dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI in reducing the rate of tumor-positive resection margins after breast conserving surgery in patients with early non-mass breast carcinoma.@*Methods@#Seventy-two patients with early non-mass breast carcinoma received ultrasonographic and mammographic examination and subsequently underwent dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI examination before breast conserving surgery. The control group consisted of 74 patients who had early non-mass breast carcinoma. They only received ultrasonographic and mammographic examination and didn′t undergo contrast-enhanced MRI examination. The comparison of the rate of tumor-positive resection margins between two groups was performed. The MRI findings that had the significant influence on the rate of tumor-positive resection margins were analyzed using Logistic regression model.@*Results@#In 28 patients (28/72, 38.9%), dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI could correct or supplement the ultrasonographic and mammographic findings and resulted in the reasonable change of surgical program. The preoperative MRI examination group (n=30) had lower rate of tumor-positive resection margins than control group for invasive ductal carcinoma (23.3% vs 40.0%, P=0.02), but there was no significant difference (21.4% vs 26.9%, P=0.10) between two groups for ductal carcinoma in situ (n=28). The preoperative MRI examination group (n=14) had lower rate of tumor-positive resection margins than control group for the other pathologic types of breast carcinoma (14.3% vs 38.9%, P=0.02). The statistical analysis on the basis of Logistic regression model showed that some main MRI findings, including change surrounding the tumor, distance between tumor and nipple and tumor size, had the significant influence on the rate of tumor-positive resection margins.@*Conclusion@#Preoperative dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI significantly increased the accuracy of resection margins evaluation, and greatly reduced the rate of tumor-positive resection margins after breast conserving surgery in patients with early non-mass breast carcinoma.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the clinical feature of glucose metabolism in patients with primary liver carcinoma (PLC). Methods Levels of blood glucose ,serum insulin and serum C peptide were estimated in fasting state and 0.5,1,2,3 h respectively after an oral ingestion of glucose with a dose of 75 g in 82 cases of PLC and other 35 controls. The insulin resistant index and β cell function index for each patient were recorded and calculated. Results There was no significant difference of serum levels of fasting glucose between test group and control group. The serum glucose level after glucose intaking and the serum levels of blood serum insulin and serum C peptide after glucose intaking were significantly higher more than that of control group (P<0.001). The insulin resistant index and β cell function index were both significantly higher than that in control group (P <0.05) while the INS index were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Insulin resistance, hyper-insulinemia in fasting state and dysfunction in early-stage insulin secretion exist in patients with PLC when their glucose level in normal at the fasting status. It is not only easy but also hidden to occur glucose metabolism abnormality. Thus the prevention of hepatogenous diabetes should start from the state of normal glucose regulation, especially the preservation of islet β cell function.
